  • 200g bar milk chocolate

How to Make Chocolate Ice Cream Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
  • For the Cake:2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

For the Ice Cream Layer:1.5 quarts of your favorite chocolate ice cream, slightly softened

For the Ganache (optional):1 cup of heavy cream
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.

  • Stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.

  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.

  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one cake layer on a serving platter. Spread a layer of slightly softened chocolate ice cream over the cake layer.

  • Place the second cake layer on top of the ice cream layer.

  • If you're making the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it starts to steam, but do not let it boil. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.

  • Pour the ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.

  • Place the cake in the freezer for a few hours to firm up the ice cream layer and the ganache.

  • Before serving, you can decorate the cake with additional chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or any other toppings you like. Slice and enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate ice cream cake!

Remember, this is just one variation of a chocolate ice cream cake recipe. You can get creative with the flavors, and decorations, and even add layers of different fillings. Enjoy your baking!
