What is Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship is a type of dual training system in which the trainee obtains knowledge of both on-job training (OJT) and related guidelines while remaining under industrial supervision.  This industrial training takes 1 to 2 years. The government of India is also making a lot of effort to skill the candidates in the year of India. For this, the Government of India has implemented several schemes like National Apprenticeship Training Scheme, and the Skill Development Scheme.


The Apprenticeship Act of 1961

The Apprentices Act was enacted in 1961 in India. Under this Act, the program of training of trainees in industries was made to regulate, so that training courses, duration of the training, etc. which is prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council, and facilities available in the industry for training are available. So that the trainees can use all the facilities.

The Prentice Act was enacted in 1961 and effectively implemented in 1962. Initially, the Act envisaged the training of trade apprentices.  This act was further amended in 1986, and it was decided to train 10 + 2 professional streams as "technicians (vocational)" in its jurisdiction.

Qualification for apprentice

Students who have obtained a degree or diploma in engineering or have a professional qualification of +2 or have done 10 + ITI from a trade, then can apply for the apprenticeship recruitment fired by the government or in the private sector. For apprenticeship, the candidate must be 16 years of age. There is no upper age limit for this.

How to Handy

The Government of India has implemented the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme or National Trainee Training Scheme for apprenticeship in India. The apprentice is required to register in the scheme for the apprentice.

Trained managers with well-developed training modules ensure that trainees learn the job quickly and competently. During the period of apprenticeship, trainees are given a stipend amount, 50% of which is reimbursed to the Government of India employer At the end of the training period, the trainees are issued a certificate of proficiency by the Government of India which can be registered as valid employment experience in all employment exchanges in India. Trainees are placed for training in central, state, and private organizations that have excellent training facilities. The National Trainee Training Scheme is one of the flagship programs of the Government of India for Skilling Indian Youth.


Why should an apprentice

The Apprentice Training Scheme is a scheme where the youth must undergo training in technically qualified people and industry scenarios. There is a double benefit to earning while learning. Trainees are taught the latest applications, processes, and methods of work in their respective fields from some of the most renowned organizations in India. The trainee learns skills, work culture, ethics, and organizational behavior during training. This greatly helps in helping him / her secure permanent employment in the future. At the end of one year of training, they are issued a certificate certifying their training and proficiency in their particular field. It serves as an experience certificate when seeking employment after their training.
