The division has been set up within NSDA at the national level to serve as a think tank for inputs on research related to skill development and evolve as a credible research organization in skill development at the national level. Its mission is to serve as an authentic, qualitative, and accessible think tank for research related to skill development in India.
The main objectives of the division are:-
- To serve as a think tank for inputs on research related to skill development;
- To evolve as a core research organization in the area of skill development;
- To provide evidence-based policy advisory/ inputs to guide the government in the process of policy formulation and implementation;
- To develop and facilitate the innovative approach and make research findings more accessible to the stakeholders;
- To establish research collaborations between universities and institutes in India and abroad in the field of skill development and adopt international best practices in India.
National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF) has defined 10 levels of competency
These levels are defined in terms of the learning outcomes that the learner must possess regardless of whether they are achieved through formal, non-formal, or informal learning. In this sense, NSQF is a quality assurance framework.
What is National Skill Qualifications Framework
Education, vocational training, general education, and technical education, thus A level of learning to a more high level. This will enable a person to return to gain a competent qualification level, transit to the job market, and at an opportune time, gain additional skills to further upgrade their competencies.NSQF provides for a five-year implementation program which provides that NSQF notification after the date of the third anniversary (27.12.2016),
NSQF notification date after the fifth anniversary (27.12.2018), NSQF-compliant will be mandatory for all training / educational programs/courses All training and educational institutions will set eligibility criteria for admission to various courses in terms of NSQF levels.
